SpellBound Coders Cup

Terms of Service

These terms govern your participation in the hackathon and the use of our website and services.

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern participation in the SpellBound Coders Cup hackathon ("Hackathon") hosted by Copoint AI (the "Organizer").

By registering for, accessing, or participating in the Hackathon, you ("Participant") agree to be bound by these Terms, the Code of Conduct, and any additional rules or instructions issued by the Organizer or published on the Hackathon's official page.

Participation in the Hackathon constitutes acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree, you are not permitted to register for or take part in the Hackathon.

Eligibility

Participation is open to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria set out on the Hackathon's official page. Certain Hackathons may be limited to individuals from specific regions, institutions, or organizations. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Participant who does not meet these criteria.

Participants must be at least 18 years old or have obtained verifiable parental or legal guardian consent to participate, as specified on the Hackathon's official page.

Code of Conduct

Participants must adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout the duration of the Hackathon. The Organizer reserves the right to take appropriate action, including disqualification, against any Participant found to be engaging in abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate conduct.

Registration and Teams

Participants must register through the official registration platform. Team-based Hackathons may have additional rules regarding team formation, size, and eligibility, as specified on the event page.

Submissions

Submissions must be original work created during the Hackathon duration, made by registered participants or teams, and compliant with any technical or thematic constraints specified by the Organizer.

Participants are solely responsible for ensuring their submissions do not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. Plagiarized or previously published work may result in disqualification.

Participants are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the terms of any third-party tools, APIs, or software used in their submissions. The Organizer is not liable for any violations arising from such use.

Judging

All submissions will be evaluated by the Organizer. The Organizer's decision on winners is final and binding.

Prizes and Sponsor Offers

Prizes, incentives, or benefits offered during the Hackathon may be provided by the Organizer or its sponsors. The Organizer does not guarantee or assume responsibility for the fulfillment or quality of such prizes or offers unless explicitly stated. Prizes may be subject to verification, substitution, or taxation based on applicable laws.

Intellectual Property Rights

Participants retain full ownership of the intellectual property (IP) in their submissions. However, by participating in the Hackathon, Participants grant Copoint AI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, publish, or share their submissions for purposes related to Hackathon promotion, evaluation, or showcasing on the platform or social media.

Third-party libraries or datasets must be used in compliance with their respective licenses.

Data Privacy and Sharing

Participant data is collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Such data may be shared with sponsors strictly for purposes related to event planning, communication, judging, or prize disbursal. Bulk participant data will only be shared in line with platform-level data-sharing policies and event structure (e.g., only RSVPd or submitted applicants, as applicable).

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Copoint AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from participation in or inability to participate in the Hackathon, prize fulfillment or sponsor offers, or unauthorized access to or use of personal data.

The event is provided "as is." Participants are responsible for their equipment, accounts, and network connections throughout the hackathon.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Hackathon shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

Amendments

The Organizer reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Hackathon's page, and continued participation constitutes acceptance of those changes.

We may modify the schedule, content, or policies when necessary. Significant changes will be communicated via email or on-site announcements.
